You have a long ways to go since there are many, many ins and outs of tattooing, especially these days. A good idea is to research tattoo sites and access sites that are set up by professional tattooists. There are scads of tattoo shows and things like that but they don't really give you the real deal and getting technical information will just take some time and diligence on your part.
