Strange smell after defrosting ground beef in microwave?

Ground beef being defrosted using a microwave will always have that smell. Its not that the ground beef is bad, I think its due to the rapidness of the beef defrosting that gives off a bad odour. Nothing to worry about. If it was only in the freezer for a week, and then you decided to use it, it is very safe to cook with. Frozen ground beef smells like that all the time when I defrost it
