Why is boxer Nonito Donaire abusing and disrespecting his father, is it because of Filipino culture?

His father brought him in America to have a better life. His father put gloves in his hands and taught him boxing. Now that Donaire is rich, he abandon his father who is working as a welder with no benefits and very low wages. WTF? I would never let my father be like that. Black people love their parents, we make em proud, we don't abuse them or disprespect them. But how come it seem like Filipino culture does not teach morals or respect for their parents who give em life, and give em the opportunity they have now. Donaire is really a shame, not just because of his steroid allegations but also the way he conduct himself as a very bad son, a typical Filipino male.
