How do I shed my creepy persona?

So I talked to this girl on facebook chat that I thought was cute. I didn't think it was weird but she thinks I am creepy and is not interested. I feel like a lot of people think I'm creepy (maybe because I'm quiet), but I really wanna change this persona. Although I don't think it's possible just because I am entering my senior year in high school, so I'm thinking of saying who cares I'll wait till college but I don't wanna just lay down. Also I recently read the great gatsby where gatsby reinvented himself and I wanna do the same. I want his persona: the aloof cool guy who no one knows a lot about. I don't wanna be the creepy guy anywore.
