Ladies-if a guy's hair is thinning, is it more attractive for him to buzz it down?

I am asking because my hair is thinning on top of my head near the back part. I am 26 by the way. My girlfriend said it would look better if I got like a military style haircut where it is like 1/4inch (#2 guard on clippers) than to just leave it be. What do you think? I have a decent face to where I would look ok, just "bald" lol. She says it would look ok because I have a rocker/biker look anyways so it would look better if I did it than someone who is nerdy or preppy looking.
