Dragonballz Fanfiction?

I read a fanfic for DBZ back in maybe 2003 or 2004. It took place years after GT but the characters were not Goku Jr or Vegeta Jr they were others who were related somehow. There was one half saiyan who was training to become a super saiyan or super saiyan 2 and actually pushed himself all the way to a supposed level 5 then ped out and forgot he even made it that far or how to ascend again. That's about all I can remember about it, it wasn't finished but I lost track of it and can't find it now. Anybody ever read it before? if so you know where it can be found? I'd like to finish it.
