Freethinkers: I'm interested in that moment you realized it was a fable?

I've seen several questions from obvious fundie trolls about how they became atheists and now their lives are empty and meaningless, etc. As for me, when I finally realized I didn't buy this nonsense, I felt alive and liberated for the first time in my life, in control of my life to a degree I never felt possible. What was your experience?
