Good crime novels to read?

well, if you're looking for the kind of crime novels that would make your mind think and the one that could make you thin again if what you already thought is logical or not, I would go for Sidney Sheldon kinds of novel. He writes stories in the fastest way possible and well as other reviwers say..it's hard to put down..
