I think i want to be a doctor when i grow up but can I handle it?

I really think i want to be a doctor or surgeon when i grow up but i dont know if i could handle the blood, guts, cutting open type things. im fine when watching tv shows where surgery is involved but on the other hand i cant stand any gory movies. how could i know?
