What Religions Practiced Human Sacrifice and/or God Sacrifice?

I know that the Aztecs practiced human sacrifice and offered up a beating human heart to their God. The image reminds me of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, and I'm not sure whether Jesus counts as a human sacrifice or a God sacrifice since there is debate about that in Christian communities. But, what religions do you know of that practiced human sacrifice and/or God sacrifice and what role did this play in their religion? Are there any religions surviving today that you can think of that still practice human or God sacrifice? Thanks for your thoughts!
